Course Description

BUILDING A BETTER COMMUNITY THROUGH BUSINESS GROWTH AND LEADERSHIP.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Truist Foundation, you may be one of 40 small business owners selected to attend the 2 year Truist Entrepreneurship Program at no-cost

This premier leadership and business training program will provide business owners with the knowledge and skills needed to grow their business and assist them in implementing best practices in their company.

Each cohort will consist of 20 entrepreneurs and will be facilitated by faculty and seasoned consultants from the University of Georgia, as well as outside speakers.  This is an adult learning experience through a mixture of instruction, facilitated group work, peer-led discussion, independent exercises and assignments.

Space is limited for the NO-COST program - a completed application and program acceptance is required before registration.

Cohort one begins January 2022. Cohort two begins January 2023.

Course Outline

This program is broken up into a two-year curriculum.

YEAR ONE

  • Module 1: Vision
    Develop a vision for your business and the growth that you plan to achieve over the next 5 years.
     
  • Module 2: Marketing - Create a Plan
    Identify your target market, create a plan for reaching that market and implement your marketing strategy.
     
  • Module 3: Financial - Budgeting for Success
    Learn the basics of accounting and bookkeeping, implement a record keeping system and create a budget along with financial projections.
     
  • Module 4: Operations
    Review operations within your organization and identify areas for increased efficiency.

YEAR TWO

  • Module 5: Leadership
    Focus on how to be a leader in your business. Learn strategies for better hiring and employee retention.
     
  • Module 6: Marketing - Measuring your ROI
    Review marketing efforts implemented in Module 2 and analyze which strategies have provided the best return on investment.
     
  • Module 7: Financial - Analysis
    Learn to analyze your financial statements to assess the financial health of your business. Update your budget and determine if additional capital is needed for intended growth.
     
  • Module 8: Implementing a Plan for Growth
    Compile knowledge gained from previous modules to put together an implementation plan for growth.
